In relevance to the National Fire service day observed on 14th April,every year,the "National Fire safety week" was observed between 14th -20th April'22 this year. In connection with this,the students of classes 6-9th of Vanavani Mat.Hr.sec.school witnessed a demonstration reg fire safety & rescue services jointly conducted by "Security department-IIT M & TN Fire service,saidapet,Chennai" on 20th April at the school premises. Mrs.Princy Tom ,Vice principal madam welcomed the guests of the day and the students to the event. Mr.Elumalai,CSO.,IIT-M.,addressed the children and gave valuable inputs on rosd safety.,traffic rules and the different category of fire and the methods of putting out the same. The children were also updated with the emergency numbers available @IIT-M,to access the.during emergency. It was very much informative and interesting for the students. The second session was taken over by Mr.Prabhakaran ,Fire service officer,Saidapet andhis team which was very lively with lot of demonstrations. Children were taught with different steps and strategy towards rescuing people during fire accidents,without becoming panic. The students were advised to be confident and courageous in handling tough situations like these,holding on to the basic knowledge of cause of fire and the method adopted to put out the same. At the outset,the entire program was very much informative and innovative ,making it more enjoyable. The teachers and students were v.much thankful towards the programme organisers and Jiya of class 9A proposed the vote of thanks,to culminate the programme.
